I have an 88 CRX Si with a D16a6 that is about at the end of its rope. What would be the best engine to replace it with? Everyone has told me to go with a B16. In order to do this I suppose I need to replace the ECU, but can I still use my 5 speed that I have now? What about the mounts? What is a decent price I should go after on an engine and ECU. The only thing I have looked at is the original replacement D16 for around $695 long block. any advice would be helpful.
Thanks
Danny

Please look into contacting HAS Sport for your complete list of needs, components etc...

These guys break it down to where you gotta beat to fit certain engines, and I mean hell they are already doing the K series swaps

www.clubsi.com has a forum that's pretty much dedicated to engine swaps of the type you are mentioning. You can go bigger, but usually the b16 is a drop in from what I've seen.

ZX3 is right on the money. Check out www.hasport.com

These guys list what motors, will fit in what cars, and what is needed for all! Sheesh...I think they have a kit to put a H22A in a CRX...

Have fun!

Also look for the book:
Honda and Acura Performance by Mike Kojima. Read some of the chapters..great book for the begining and season Honda/Acura tuner. Has a complete section on engine buildups and engine swaps:

Hell if I'm not mistaken isn't HasSport already swapping the K series engines James?
I think they are making Type R swaps possible and Type S RSX's swap into the Civic's also...

Great company, great support team, and best of all they know it all before they sell the products/information!!!!! Unlike 87% of the manufactors out there now....
