JENSEN vm9512 touchscreen troubleshoot

everything still works electronically, however the tv sticks out about an inch and motor stops. i can force the rest of the way manually but then it will not flip upwards at all. any suggestions? a friend at spring break nationals told me it had to do with a rubberband or something. kinda makes sense, perhaps it snapped or elongated and is jamming the gears?
-any help would be more than greatly appreciated.

if it is less than a year old send it in for service

if it is over a year old, then toss it out and get a new one, as you bought one of the cheapest screens out there, or you can live with it.

also check to make sure it is not hitting the trim around the radio and getting caught up
