Clarion Faceplate replacement question

Hello,

I just bought a used SUV and it came with a very basic Clarion (model: DB185MP) faceplate. It seems to sound pretty good. However, I was wondering if a can buy a replacement faceplate which would add Sirius Radio, HD-AM/FM, and maybe other features. I would want to buy a new faceplate only if possible rather than an entire system.

From what I understand, the dealer installed this stereo because the factory one was stolen.

My SUV is a 2005 Ford Escape Limited.

WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS? Thanks VERY much for your help.

A faceplate will not add options. You would need a new headunit for more options.

How much hassle is it to change out a Clarion head unit to another Clarion head unit? I hate to admit this, but this is my first non-factory stereo since high school and I graduated in 1980.

Now I want to buy something really cool.

It could be very easy if the model you are interested in has the same connections. If not it will take a little more work. You will have to adapt the new unit to the wiring. If the old unit was just adapted to the Ford wiring you can reuse the connectors and rewire them to the wires of your new chosen headunit.
