Sales of in-vehicle consumer electronics (CE) will grow at a rate of 13 percent in 2008 to more than $12.8 billion, according to a recent study released by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA).

I imagine a lot of it comes from OEM. I doubt that comes from aftermarket.

I'm sure it will grow............ Everything grows to one extent or another but I think the real scary part is that most of the money spent in the 12 volt segment is more with DISPOSABLE products.

I say this in the "But one get one free" & $399.00 flip out DVD multimedia units.
The people that will buy a GARBAGE type units and waste their money learning all about pretty packaging with NO performance or quality by any stretch will not have the money to go and buy a "REAL" quality unit.
I think that trying to build products more towards impulse buying instead of making it for people that do their homework is a BAD move.

I can't imagine if I graduated High School just to come home to a 1000 watt (really 25 watt) system that was purchased at Pep boys with two 12's for $149.99...............

I think their is room for the B.S. products but it has never been so main stream. People (consumers) really need to learn their stuff or fall victim to the A*SHOLE manufacturers and stores that sell TRASH.
Price is important but QUALITY, VALUE and how long it will last you is more important.

Remember: We are buying what is supposed to be HIGH QUALITY, enthusiast products.............. Not some CR*P that will last as long as it took you to read this post.
