Does anyone know whats up with the mecp site? I have not been able to get on it to order the book for a couple days now. I get to the screen that says powered by mobiletoys or something and thats it, it does not redirect you and the link don't work.

MECP.com was down for a few days when the offices moved, but that was primarily over a long weekend. Operations have been back up for most of this month (it was really only 2 business days that they were down).
If you have orders, just call MECP Customer Service at 866-858-1555 M-F 9am-5pm (East coast time)

Is the test really based on the study guide, because alot of the info I'm getting says they're nothing alike.

Hi guys -
Just to comment on the Master exam revisions being deployed, the Master exam revision will be electronically published and released in the Prometric test centers by the middle of December and shortly thereafter for proctored locations (such as industry schools, etc.).
The revised Master exam has much more material that's part of the Master guide, but it also assumes knowledge of what's in the Advanced level as well (since things are not repeated in the books - it's assumed you already have mastery of those topics). The most current Master exam was last revised in 2005, but remember that before this year there never was a Master guide from which to study. There is still a comprehenisve list of other study resources for deeper knowledge into Master level topics listed in the back of the Master study guide if you need additional sources of information.
Currently there are only still around 70 current (meaning not expired) MECP Masters in the US, so it's a big deal and I hope all qualified test participants who have both the experience and the mastery of the topics achieve that credential! It usually means more pay, better job security, but most certainly the personal satisfaction of being a respected peer among your colleagues.
If you are at all concerned about a version discrepancy, I recommend you e-mail mecp@mecp.com (mecp@mecp.com) before you register for your exam and they will be able to let you know if the revised Master exam is active yet. Like I said (barring any unforeseen complications) it should release mid-December.
