2007 Escalade no nav

Going to be working on my first 07 Escalade, one without factory nav. Want to add a double din w/nav(ddx-6019) and headrests. any issues anyone run into or parts i should order so i can do this in one day. this is for a new client that had issues at another shop and I kinda want him to be impressed. i got the LANSTAR 2 from sound gate on the way, any dashkits available or factory parts to help in the install. thanx

Metra sells a kit .. After I had already done one the hard way....

The sound gate harness -- works well... you'll need a relay for the Turn Signals and an old Hands free kit speaker for the Chimes and On-Star

Does it have Bose ?

or the Y91 Sound System ?

The Y91 system is Chevy's Hi-End Audio gear .. If you plan on keeping the BOSE amp - the SoundGate Harness wont work .

If no BOSE - then no prob- it only works without the Y91 package -

The Relay is for the Turn signals .. Mimicks the "Clicking" sound for the Turn signal output. It wires to the LanStar Harness -

thanks for the replies, so then do i just relocate the factory deck then or am i SOL.

all you need to do is pull the pc board from the radio. the board that has the factory harness plugs on it. I usually make a small abs box to protect it. Then i just leave it above the factory ac controls in the dash. works perfect.

Also you will need to disable the rear stereo controls. You can pull unit apart and put a piece of tape across the power button contacts.

Very Important!!!!! You must make sure that the factory radio is powered off before you reinstall just the main pc board. If after install unit is still on, you must reassemble radio and turn off that way. Steering wheel controls arent able to turn unit off. Hope this helps. Any questions let me know.
