Merc's Harmon/Kardon speakers

Just wondering who makes the speakers for the current Mercedes E class Harmon/Kardon Logic 7 system ?

I have a feeling since they are refered to by Mercedes as Metal Matrix that they are made by Infinity.

To me they sure do look like it.

Does any know if this is correct?

Yes, those speakers are made by Harman and they are metal cones. In fact, I used to use some in the Mini Cooper I used to compete with. They're nice drivers.

I just want to change the tweeters that are in the sail panel. I'll keep the rest of the system as is as i don't want to go crazy like i did in my old E320.

I feel the Harmon/Kardon system is not as good as it can be. The tweeters are very small and remind me of a tweeter you find in a cheap coaxial.

No complaints with the mid bass drivers though.

Do you know if it is possible to change the tweeter to the Infinity Reference tweeter model no# REF1011T in place of the current tweeter?

I know i will need to do a little custom work on the inside of the sail panel cover to fit the Reference tweeter but thats no big deal.
