Is there any way I can use my P9 combo(w/ remote) and still have my steering wheel controls on my 2005 Dodge Magnum RT AWD?

Thanks,
Dave

Yes with any of the steering wheel control interfaces on the market. You will probably be limited to the functions of the remote when it is closed. I don't know how you could make the deck think that the remote is open through the interface.

I would think that any function could be programmed without a problem. The adapter doesn't know weather the remote is open or closed.

Dave, the steering wheel controls on the Magnum communicate with the factory head (and EVIC display) via the CAN-BUS. The only solution for steering wheel control on the horizon at this point is here:

http://www.pac-audio.com/products/swi.htm

Look for the SWI-CAN addon for the SWI-X on this page. It's currently in Beta at PAC, in fact, they are looking for a couple testers in the Anahiem, CA area.

Once this is out, you should have steering wheel control BUT you will lose the radio related information that your EVIC currently shows.

Good luck!

but my EVIC will still show system settings like MPG,door open, etc. right?

I would assume you will not lose the other non-stereo EVIC displayed items.

I guess I can live with that---hell the P9 remote is a work of art itself----not that many people look at the EVIC anyway---no one drives it but me.
