WTF? On termpro Alma Gates claims that these things are commercially available. Has anyone bought one of these, or know how to get them??? I don't want to get into the deal about db drag allowing/not allowing these into competion. It's just I asked about getting a pair of these at one point and no one locally thought that they were available.

Have you ever called the company? it might be a line only certain dealers can get and they would be able to find one (dealer) that can get you the subs

I spoke with kicker last week regarding the Gates L-7s, they said they were in final beta-testing and would retail at $999.00, cant remember the exact release date.

I just got an answer that they were available commercially LAST YEAR, but not now... Maybe they will be re-released tho, who knows.

Sorry, no offence intended, but I thought that I was within reason inferring that you were saying they were commercialy available at some point. While I haven't called Kicker direct, I did speak to the rep for my area and I was told that they are not available.

"Now, as to the products in my car. If Wayne Harris determines the woofers are ok, we will compete - if he doesn't, we will be in the Kicker booth doing our thing.

Either way, we are here to promote the industry, our sponsors, and db drag and that is exactly what we will be doing at db drag finals."

How could you be promoting db drag at db drag finals if the vehicle doesn't meet the basic rules? I'm not saying that it does or doesn't; mainly I was just considering buying L7g's. I just am getting contradictory information from different sources.

But still haven't contacted the manufacturer directly. http://www.carsound.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif

I'm going to be at finals, not competing, but spectating, promoting dbDrag. And I won't even have a vehicle there.

Quit looking for reasons to nitpick and DQ her. The subs were commercially available, your rep can't get them now, they will be available again, and they've been ok'd for use by Wayne Harris. Issue's dead. Find someone else to pick on.

"But still haven't contacted the manufacturer directly."

Yeah, like I want to sit on hold long distance from Canada for half an hour!!!

Sorry for assuming that Kicker would want their employees/representatives to dispense correct information...

Dragon Lady,

How do you infer that I'm looking for reasons to DQ or nitpick??? Did I not say,
"I'm not saying that it does or doesn't; mainly I was just considering buying L7g's. I just am getting contradictory information from different sources. "???

I WANTED TO PURCHASE THESE SUBWOOFERS!!!
I LIKE{D} KICKER'S PRODUCT!!!
I AM FRUSTRATED ABOUT CONTRADICTORY INFORMATION!!!

I really don't give a fu<k about dbdrag, and if you all can get so worked up about this... well go ahead. I'm just echoing the frustrations of MANY consumers.

"I'm going to be at finals, not competing, but spectating, promoting dbDrag. And I won't even have a vehicle there."

That's really, really nice... not having a vehicle there hardly marginalizes the credibility of dbdrag, does it???

I'm not saying that anyone is, but if a person was permitted to compete that was violating the rules would. Anyways, the point of this is not DQing anyones car... you just aren't listening. Maybe you should take stock of your lives if this is so important to you. Maybe if you all wnat to support dbdrag so much you would attempt to clarify the situation instead of issuing vague statements like maybe you should contact Kicker directly...

And yet again:

"I don't want to get into the deal about db drag allowing/not allowing these into competion. It's just I asked about getting a pair of these at one point and no one locally thought that they were available."

AS I STATED IN THE ORIGINAL POST!

Please read what I have to say in the future as well.

Ok, so you don't want to sit on hold long distance for half an hour. How about email. http://www.carsound.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif

Forgive me, but your post seems to be a slam at Alma's credibility and sportsmanship - and whether she's using woofers that are within the rules of dbDrag, and it appears your only reason in asking if they are available was to make that point. I may have mistaken your intent - but I know I'm not the only one.

Well then, I guess if I can explisitly state that I'm not doing that, but you infer that I am, there is no real hope for communication here. If you want to see what I said as a slam instead of genuine interest in the woofers (I've already owned L7 15's..., and the new woofers I'm purchasing are ~$1000 dollars each, L7g's alleged price range), then so be it. You say you want to promote dbdrag, but this whole contraversy has soured me on it. I thought that e-mailing stillwater was redundant when I had information from employees of stillwater saying no KCG equipment was available to the public. C'est fini.
