I was wondering if you could elaborate on these tips...

The mitsubishi montero with the infinity system comes to mind. There is a standard harness at the deck that only goes to the door speakers. Then there is a din cable that runs to the rear side panel for the amp to the rear speakers, dash speakers and the door tweeters. I have found that at the deck there is rear speaker wires that run to a harness under the passanger seat, but they end there. So, what I have done is remove the passanger seat and rear sidepanel. Then run new wires from the seat to the rear channel wires and bypass the amp in the rear.

This is a lot of work just to install a deck. At least in the Eclipse the amp is under the drivers seat. All you have to do there is use a Daewoo harness(repinned of corse) and run new wires to the deck.
...specifically 1. What it is you do underneath the seat of the montero, 2. do you do this on all monteros, w/ or with out infinity system and 3. how do you repin the daewoo harness. I would love to arm myself with this knowledge and show my boss a thing or two (he's oldschool)! Detail would be great. Thanks.

The applies to the Montero Sport with the infinity system.
The front channels at the radio go to the front speakers. The rear channels end under the passanger seat.
The factory amplifier is located in the passanger side panel.
You can run new wires from the seat to the amplifier area.
This will give you channel output to the speakers.
There are some adaptors out there that integrate th infinity amplifier. Unfortunity we don't carry them.

On the Eclipses with the infinity system. You have to run new wires from the deck to the amplifier. It is located under the passanger seat. The harness on the amp is the same as the Daewoo harness. Unfortunitly the wire pinout is different. You can remove the pins and place them in the correct order. That way non of the factory wire is cut.

Just a few more questions:

1. When repinning, do you push or pull on the wire?

2. Where can i find the diagram for the OEM harness?

3. In regards to the montero sport, are you referring both the door and the dash speakers being at the radio harness? Because I have noticed installers having problems getting the tweeters to work sometimes.

Sorry to bug ya, but i like being thorough before I attempt something.

I pull the pins out of the harness and place them in the proper locations. You will need to test for the speakers before repinning. I have the wires written down at work.
I can't remember if the tweeters were with the front doors or if you have to jump them in the back.
