Welcome everyone. Looking for comments and suggestion for the MECP program. Please be constructive, but real. We are currently working on the new First Class Study Guide. This guide will be targeted at practical application for the installer. Also looking for comments on the existing program overall. I look forward to your posts.

I can't wait to see the new study guide. Please include information that is on the test but not in the old book. For those of us who started installing in the early 90's questions on SWR meters don't answer easy. I have done thousands of decks amps and speakers. I have probably done over 800 alarms. I have only done three or four CB radio's. I have never used a SWR meter. I am sure it is not difficult to use but that question bit me on the test.
I am looking foward to this forum. thanks...

Hopefully I will get my chance to be certified one day.. but as for SWR meters tey are very easy. It helps to have one in front of you while giving instructions though.. The easiest thing to do would be to check out a truck stop or a CB shop not an electronics store and ask them for help..Most of the guys are more than happy to help everything you need to know can be explained and demonstrated in less than ten minutes including using a dummy load for measuring power output. The long part is adjusting the antenna for the best possible match.. If you would rather ge tthe info here for whatever reason let me know and I can go into details.

Hello guys,

Just wondering, What is the highest score in bronze level. Where and when it was taken.

Thanks,
Ted

100 would be the highest. I know plenty of people who scored in the 93 to 98 range.

A friend of mine who is a student in MT2 in Hackensac, NJ., had told me that somebody graduated in that school got 97 something.
How hard is the test:confused:
